Frequently
Asked Questions
What
is Vacuum Excavation?
Vacuum excavation
uses a high velocity air or water stream to penetrate,
expand, and breakup soil. The loosened particles are then
removed by using a very powerful vacuum. From this a hole
is created that is typically anywhere from one to two
feet wide and as deep as required to locate buried lines.
Water
or air?
Our
system can use both air and water for penetrating soil.
Using air provides a much cleaner pothole and allows the
excavated soil to be reused, saving time and money. The
use of air to excavate results in no damage to the buried
utility. Water can be used to help break up some soils
that air is less effecient at.
How
is Vacuum Excavation better?
Time
is money. Our system can excavate a 12" x 12"
hole 5 feet deep, in most soils, in less than 7 minutes.
This new technology is cleaner, quieter, safter, and faster,
than the conventional methods, vacuum excavation wins,
hands down!
